It is in the heart of this idyllic scene that you will meet several winemakers and discover their wineries in Mendoza and Salta.

Between small boutique vineyards and large renowned wineries such as Michel Rolland’s, you’ll get a complete overview of Argentina’s wine country whilst being transported away from the culture and landscapes of the Argentine Atiplano.

Day 1 : Arrive Buenos Aires

Welcoming at Ezeiza International Airport and transfer to Buenos Aires in a private vehicle. Transfer with an English-speaking guide.

Visit Buenos Aires (half day, private tour).

Buenos Aires, a cosmopolitan city with European influence, is among the 10 most active cities in the world. City of arts, cultures, theaters, traditions… The variety satisfies the most demanding visitor.

You visit the 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest in the world, dominated by the Obelisk , a symbol of Buenos Aires. You will pass the Colon Theatre, one of the jewels of the Argentinian architecture. Then you arrive to the famous Plaza de Mayo, where you can see all the iconic buildings such as the Casa Rosada (Pink Palace) or Casa de Gobierno (Government Palace), the Cabildo (Council) and the Cathedral.

You end your day with the picturesque neighborhood of La Boca, and its very popular alley El Caminito, the spot for painters, tango dancers and singers.

Return to your hotel after the visit. A English-speaking guide will accompany you throughout your visit.

Day 2 : Buenos Aires - City Tour

Visit Buenos Aires (half day and private tour).

Today you you go on a guided tour of Recoleta neighborhood, characterized by many colonial houses, often old houses of historical figures, currently inhabited by powerful Argentinian families. You enter the luxurious Pacifico Shopping Center, characterized by its French architecture of 1889, with vaulted ceilings. This stunning place is one of the favorite spots from Argentina.

Later you visit Recoleta Cemetery, where many celebrities, writers and politicians rest. The best known and most revered, even today is the tomb of Evita Peron , the legendary wife of President Peron .

You continue your visit to Palermo neighborhood, with a stroll in the park Tres de Febrero , inaugurated in 1875, representing the largest green area of the city.

Day 3 : Buenos Aires - fly to Mendoza

Transfer from the hotel to the Buenos Aires Domestic Airport in a private vehicle accompanied by an English-speaking guide.

Fly to Mendoza. Meet and greet and transfer from Mendoza Airport to your hotel.

Empanadas Cooking Class

How about cooking the famous Argentinian empanadas and enjoy Argentinian meat at sunset in the middle of the vineyards?

You put on your apron to start preparing a traditional Argentinean meal: empanadas mendocinas, carne con salsa chimichurri, etc. This is a convivial moment that will allow you to get to know the local products, a few anecdotes and soak up the Argentinian culture. At the end, you will have your dinner with a Mendocinean Malbec.

Day 4 : Mendoza - Lujan de Cuyo Wine Tour

Accompanied by an English-speaking guide specialized in oenology, you go to visit his best winemaker friends, in old vintages vineyards from terroir, with delightful wine tasting and lunch with a renown  wine producer.

You first visit the beautiful Finca La Anita situated in Lujan de Cuyo. There you have a VIP visit and wine tasting with the winemaker.

Then you are going to the fantastic bodega Domaine Saint Diego in Maipu, one of the most charming and beautiful vineyards of Mendoza where the famous Ángel Mendoza produces organic wines. Its amazing terraced vineyard is one of the few in Mendoza.

We next visit the new rising winemaker star, Eduardo Soler in his beautiful house La Cayetana to taste all Ver Sacrum wines. Chef Pablo del Rio will cook for us a beautiful meal using the best organic products and meat from local producers.

Return to Mendoza at the end of the afternoon.

Day 5 : Mendoza - Uco Valley Wine Tours

You take a tour in a semi-private excursion (maximum 10 people), accompanied by an English-speaking guide specialized in oenology to visit Uco Valley.

World famous winemaker Michel Rolland opens his own winery for us. Uncontested pioneer of Argentinean wines, his consulting work around 13 countries has influenced the global wine industry.

Located in the prestigious Clos de los 7 vineyard, this ‘cube winery’ concentrate the most modern technology of wine-making. During your visit, you will taste some white from the tank and the iconic Val de Flores wine from the cask, then 2 Mariflor as bottles.

Our second visit is for Piedra Negra winery, located in Los Chacayes famous terroirs, which belongs to the prestigious Lurton Family. The best place to be for a private tasting that will allow you to taste from the cask some variety of the Gran Lurton white, and uncork the incredible iconic wine of the winery: ‘Chacayes’. The visit begins with a glass of fresh Pinot Grigio rosé on the terrace where we can understand all the complexity of Lurton’s vineyards while admiring the impressive Andes.

Then you will go to Tupungato Divino, lost in the middle of nowhere, where you will delight chef Jennifer Sosa’s cuisine who elaborate a fine and regional gourmet food, served in the most breathtaking view of the Andes.

Return to Mendoza at the end of the afternoon.

Day 6 : Mendoza - Daniel's Ranch

After leaving Mendoza in shared transport, you arrive at Daniel’s ranch and learn the authentic ritual of Argentinian Mate and eat some delicious homemade sopaipillas (donuts) with Daniel’s family.

Daniel is a gaucho, an equivalent of the North American «cowboy».

After saddled up the horses, you start a 2 hours horse riding into the Andes. We then have a typical lunch at 2,700m enjoying majestic views of the Andes (weather dependent, you may get an asado/BBQ or cold sandwich if windy). Then you continue horse riding for 2 more hours and go back to Daniel’s ranch.

We finally return to Mendoza.

Day 7 : Mendoza - Fly to Salta - Walking tour

Transfer from your hotel to the Airport in a private vehicle. You board your domestic flight from Mendoza to Salta.

Upon arrival, meet and greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel in private transport.

You enjoy a half day city tour of Salta on foot accompanied by an English-speaking guide.

Salta is located at 1,187m on the foot of of San Bernardo hill. Salta was built the 16th of April 1582 by Hernando de Lerma. The colonial style houses are mixed with modern buildings. You will visit historical sites such as the cathedral from the 19th century, the Cabildo which is home to a sweet museum on the history of the north. You will get to climb San Bernardo Hill, and enjoy a spectacular view of Salta.

You then explore the recent and fascinating MAAM Museum (Museo Archelogia de Alta Montaña) where you can see perfectly preserved mummies which were found at 6,000m high.

Day 8 : Salta - Cachi / Mira Luna & Colomé Bodega Wine Tours

Departure in private vehicle with English-speaking guide to reach the small colonial village of Cachi located at 2,200m, about 150km from Salta. We cross spectacular landscapes: the Quebrada de Escoipe, a large deep gorge where the green forests contrast with the ochre colour of the earth; the peeled mountains of the Cuesta del Obispo, the pass of the Piedra del Molino at 3,600m followed by the Regional Park of Los Cardones, arid lands spiked with candelabra cacti…

Cachi is a peaceful Indian village with low whitewashed houses, where the church of San Jose, dating from the 18th century with its carved cactus wood roof, stands. We visit the small archaeological museum which presents very beautiful collections of ceramics from the pre-Inca and Inca periods and especially from the Santa Maria culture.

You will visit the Mira Luna vineyard. You will be invited to a tasting of the typical wines of this arid region: here, the temperature range and the altitude are two factors that make the wine unique. Bodega Miraluna will offer you wines of great character thanks to an explosive mix of fruits. The bodega is very small and has managed to preserve its charm and authenticity: however, it has the technique and technology to develop the best red wine at high altitude. In the middle of the vineyards, enjoy the time that seems to stop in the immensity of the landscape, at the foot of the Andes mountain range, accompanied by a small glass of wine. (cellars are subject to change).

Then we reach the small village of Molinos dating back to 1659. Here you will discover the majestic church and the elegant farmhouse of Isasmendi, who was the last governor of the city of Salta.

We continue to the Bodega Colomé.

230 km – 4h45 of road / Asphalt and tracks.

Arrive at the Bodega Colomé. The estate covers 39,000 hectares and dates back to 1831. The wine estate is known for its wine but also for the museum of modern art James Turrell, a Californian artist who creates works of art by playing with light.

Day 9 : Cachi - Cafayate / Wine tours

Today you drive to Cafayate! You cross the majestic Quebrada de las Flechas surrounded by a mysterious moonscape. White dunes announce the proximity of Cafayate, the largest city in the Calchaquies Valley, whose economy relies on the wine industry.

130 kms, 3h00 aprox.

Visit to the Bodega El Esteco founded in 1892 by French immigrants. You will also take part in a tasting of the wines of the Bodega.

Day 10 : Cafayate - Bodega Piattelli Wine Tour

This is a relaxing day, with red, rosé and white wine tasting and a taste of the region’s traditional products such as empanadas and asado.

You will start your day with a visit to the Vine and Wine Museum, where you can learn more about the region here. You will learn about the history of wine growing in the region and discover the varieties of wines grown at high altitudes.

Visit and wine tasting at the Bodega Piattelli.

The Piattelli Group owns wineries located in Agrelo (Mendoza) and Cafayate, in Argentina’s two main wine-producing regions. In 2002 Jon Malinski opened his first winery in Mendoza and today the group relies on the latest technology to produce its wines. The winery produces red, white and rosé wines with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Torrontés.

Visit and tasting at the Bodega Porvenir to learn about the wine-making process, discover the vineyards, learn about the region’s terroir and the different grape species. You will also take part in a tasting of the producer’s grape varieties.

Lunch included at Bodega Piatelli, Tasting menu.

Then, we will invite you to live the experience of creating your own wine in the Bad Brother restaurant in Cafayate. You will be creating personalized wine blends with the help of a sommelier.

Day 11 : Cafayate- Salta Airport- Buenos Aires

This morning, you travel to Salta through the “Quebrada de las Conchas” which undoubtedly offers the visitor one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Northwest of Argentina, with its imposing semi-desert mountains featuring multi-colored rock formations sculpted by erosion. A century-old site conceived by nature for our benefit!

Transfer to the Salta Airport and fly to Buenos Aires.

Day 12 : Buenos Aires

Free day in Buenos Aires.

Suggested itinerary:

You can start with the 9 de Julio Avenue, the largest avenue in the world, overlooked by the Obelisk, symbol of Buenos Aires.

You can stop by the Colon Theatre, an Argentinean architectural jewel; next you can head to the famous Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by important buildings such as the Casa Rosada (Government’s house), the Cabildo, with its colonial architecture and the Cathedral of Buenos Aires.

Afterwards you get to know the picturesque La Boca neighborhood, and the Caminito Alley, a place where painters, tango dancers and singers meet.

In the afternoon you can shop in the many antique shops of San Telmo neighborhood, full of art galleries, and each Sunday the famous flee market on Defensa Street.

Return to the hotel late in the afternoon.

Private tango lessons in a dance hall with Carolina:

Carolina is a English speaking tango teacher, she will have at heart to teach you the first steps of tango but also to tell you some anecdotes about the culture of tango in Buenos Aires. Transfer in a private vehicle included.

Milonga Evening: you enter the world of Tango dancers by passing through the doors of one of the most beautiful Milonga of the capital. Accompanied by Carolina, you will learn the history of Tango and the codes of the milonga specific to Argentine Tango.
