Day 7 : Douro Valley - Quinta da Murganheira
Visit of a renowned cellar specialized in the elaboration of Portuguese “champagne“. Quinta da Murganheira is located very close to Ucanha, a small village bordering two regions: the Douro and the Beira, where the fertile lands of the Varosa Valley favor the production of this wine. The natural cellar built in the rock is worth a visit on its own. Wine tasting will include 4 house sparkling wines (2 classics and 2 Prestige vintages) at the end of the visit.

Arrival in the small village of Favaios in the heart of the Douro wine region, visit a traditional bakery to taste bread baked over a wood fire, then discover a wine cooperative to learn all about the industrial production of the region’s wine (Muscat) and taste it.
Lunch in a Quinta (rural farm) for a regional and country lunch. In the early afternoon visit of its wine library for a historical trip on the wine culture of the Douro alto region followed by a wine tasting.

For dinner, 5-course gastronomic menu between sea and land accompanied by its selection of wines for each course.

The DOC gastronomic restaurant is located in the heart of the Douro region. The chef Rui Paula, owner of the premises, is one of the most brilliant cooks of his generation and will introduce you to modern and innovative dishes based on regional products.
Night at Quinta da Pacheca, a typical 17th century house converted into a Wine House hotel and belonging to the famous wine house, in the heart of the Douro valley.
