Day 1 : Ljubljana

Welcoming at your arrival at Ljubljana Airport. Private transfer and installation at your hotel. Meeting with your guide for a private city tour to discover the Slovenian capital at your own pace and on foot for 2 hours. A walk through the pedestrian city centre and along the Ljubljanica to visit this beautiful city’s most famous spots. Throughout the walk, your guide will tell you anecdotes, legends and give you information concerning the city and the country.

Day 2 : Ljubljana

Departure from Bled to Pokljuka, a wooded high plateau from where you will pass through charming alpine villages to Lake Bohinj, the pride of the Triglav National Park. Surrounded by the Julian Alps, Bohinj is the largest and deepest lake in the national park. Arrive early enough and take a 20-minute hike to the Savica waterfall, the source of the lake and the Sava Bohinjka River. Take the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the lake. Return to Bled. Day 3 : Bled

Today the route rises to Gorje and takes place in the beautiful Radovna valley. There are several natural sights along the way, such as the source of the Sava River, the diamond river that flows from the mountains into the western part of the Julian Alps. Or Kransja Gora, famous for its skiing world cup. The second stage of the day is the ascent of the Vrsic pass, perched at an altitude of 1,161m. A panoramic route along the way with a view of the high peaks of Slovenia at the top. A long descent and hairpin bends await you to descend into the Trenta valley bordered by the Soca river. Arrival in Bovec Overnight in a 3* Hotel on the edge of Triglav National Park. Standard room.

Day 4 : Bovec

You start the day by leaving Bovec, in the direction of Tolmin. Head towards to the beautiful Tolmin Gorge, with breathtaking scenes such as Bear’s Head, a natural bridge created by a giant rock that fell and got stuck in a narrow part of the gorge. You’ll be walking along the Italian border. Take a ride over the Kolovrat Ridge – the best viewpoint overlooking the Soča valley and forming the border between the Alpine Slovenia and Italy. Don’t forget to visit Mrs. Josephine, who runs an old-fashioned pub. The ridge is about 7 km long and lies between 800 and 1150 m above sea level. After your descent you reach Šmartno v Goriških Brdih, a medieval village in the middle of vineyards that is worth a visit. You then continue to Vipava, nicknamed Little Tuscany, surrounded by vineyards and Mediterranean houses.

Rest your legs here and sip fresh white wine in another authentic village pub. Overnight in a small charming hotel in the Vipava valley. Standard room.

Day 5 : Piran

This morning you leave the vineyards for the Adriatic Sea. You pass by Stanjel, famous for its karst architecture. The path continues downhill to the Adriatic, through plains and hills. Join the cycle track of the Rosandra Valley (old railway), a valley inhabited since ancient times and an artery leading to the sea. Here you are on the Slovenian coast, with Izola and Piran, towns with Venetian charm that developed thanks to the salt trade. It’s time to take a dip in the shade in the narrow streets of the town. Night in a 3* hotel on the seafront with beach access. Standard room with sea view.

Day 6 : Piran

Today, pedal eastwards to reach the caves of Postojna. The path becomes steeper again, and you ride through hills and forests. On the way, stop at the impenetrable fortress of Predjama Castle, in a crevice halfway up a 123-metre cliff, where a bold and lively knight lived. Erasmus kept a whole army at bay by using the caves of Predjama to obtain supplies. Take a tour and discover how Erasmus disappeared prematurely in unusual circumstances, as he was literally caught off guard. End your day with a visit to the beautiful Postojna Caves, Slovenia’s most extensive cave system, through a world of colourful stalactites and stalagmites. Day 7 : Postojna

Today you will experience the real Slovenian countryside as you pass the beautiful Slivnica Mountain and the endangered magical lakes of Cerknica and Planina. You will be amazed by this vast limestone world. In the Rakov Škocjan Nature Reserve, you can stop for a picnic in the midst of incredible natural scenery, including two natural bridges.
