Sevilla has benefited from a remarkable development thanks to the richness of Guadalquivir valley. After its Islamic conquest, it became a powerful city, a rival of Cordoba, under the Almohad dynasty. Conquered in 1248 by Ferdinand III, the city owes its high standing to the discovery of America. Visit of the Bodega Senorio of Nevada :
This 21-hectare estate is an expression of an extraordinary combination of climatic factors that shaped the region’s curious geography. The harvest arrives in October, after a long and quiet maturation, undisturbed by the rain.
It produces internationally renowned varieties, such as the local Tempranillo, that has almost disappeared; but also Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet.
These wines are used as a study in one of the most prestigious oenological centers in Bordeaux, in order to verify their behavior, being in the extreme south of the European Mediterranean.
The winery has been completely renovated: the old jars have been changed for stainless steel tanks, equipped with cold and nitrogen installations, even creating a line of oxygenation of the wines.
